Down offers it's visitors some of the most striking
scenery in Ireland thanks to it's beautiful coastline and the Mourne Mountains.
In the east of the county, the Ards Peninsula forms a barrier between the
sea and the almost land-locked Strangford Lough. Bangor, Donaghadee, Newcastle
and Warrenpoint are examples of some of the fine resorts that line the beautiful
Down coast. They are linked by good roads that wind their way around
the shore.
